You

For example: 3 years as a sales assistant in a phone shop

Type your name, the job title and the employer to see your subject line, email and cover letter.

Before you send

  • Many employers in Egypt take applications only through their own careers page. If the advert has an Apply button, use that, and paste this text in the message box if there is one.
  • Already in a job? An open-ended contract means 3 months' notice under Article 156 of Labour Law 14 of 2025. Say when you could really start.
  • Don't send a copy of your national ID, your certificates or your military papers in a first email. Hand them over when there's a real offer, and get a receipt: Article 89 says you should get one.
  • Applying is free. If anyone asks for money to pass on your application, stop.

Here is a short example of what it builds. Subject: Application for Accountant: Mona Hassan. Dear Hiring Manager, I am applying for the Accountant position at the firm named in the advert. I bring 2 years of accounts payable work. My main skills are reconciliations and Excel. My CV is attached. I can attend an interview at your office or online at a time that suits you. Short is fine. A manager reads it in under a minute, so one clear reason to open your CV beats a page of praise.

What should an application email say in Egypt?

Four things: the exact job title, one line of relevant experience, your main skills, and how to reach you. Add your English level if the advert asks for one, and when you can start if you're in a job now.

  • Use the subject line the advert asks for. If there's a reference number, put it in. The builder has a box for it.
  • Send from an address with your name in it, and call your CV file Your-Name-CV.pdf.
  • Say something true about this employer. The builder has a box for that too, and it goes into the letter.

Do I even need an email?

Often no. Many employers in our catalogue take applications only through their own careers page. Use that when the advert does, and keep this text for the cover letter box. Email is for adverts that give an address, for small firms, and for following up.

What start date should I give?

A real one. If you're on an open-ended contract, Article 156 of Labour Law 14 of 2025 means 3 months' notice, and it can't be cut by agreement, though your employer may release you. Saying you can start next week and then not doing it costs you trust. Say: my notice is 3 months, and I'll ask my employer whether it can be shorter.

Questions people ask

Should I attach my ID or certificates?

Not in a first email, unless the advert insists. Send your CV. If an advert does need papers, a copy is enough, and you should still check the advert is real. Our job scam check can help.

Should I write it in Arabic?

Follow the advert. This builder writes the frame in English, and most of our adverts are in English. For an Arabic advert, write your message in Arabic yourself.

Should I pay anyone to send my application?

No. Applying is free. Article 43 of Labour Law 14 of 2025 bans taking money from a worker for placing them in a job, apart from a licensed company's admin charge of at most 1% of your wage, first year only.
