# Government and UN jobs in Egypt: where to apply

Where to start

Public-sector vacancies in Egypt are not all found in one social feed. Begin at the official government jobs portal, where the Central Agency for Organization and Administration separates available categories and provides instructions for applying and checking an application's progress. Read the full Arabic notice, not just its headline: a role may have a required qualification, age or residence condition, document list, assessment stage and closing date. These differ by competition.

Create a folder for each application. Save the official advert, its reference, the version of your CV you submitted and your confirmation. If a document is requested in a particular format, follow that instruction. A screenshot of a vacancy shared in a group is not a substitute for the live official notice.

International organisations use different systems. The UN Careers how-to-apply guide directs applicants to select a specific opening and choose “Apply Now” on its description. Check the duty station, contract category, language requirements and experience level before investing time in the form. The UN career overview also points applicants to agencies, funds and programmes that publish jobs on their own sites.

Do not confuse a lead with a guarantee

An intermediary cannot reserve a public appointment or a UN interview. The UN explicitly warns that it does not request payment at any stage. Treat a message asking for a fee, banking details or a quick transfer as a reason to stop. Verify the sender and application status by signing in to the official portal yourself rather than following the message's link.

For each vacancy, write a short evidence map: each mandatory requirement beside the part of your experience that proves it. This helps you decide whether to apply and makes your answers more precise.
